Q. I'm a Library Science Student. I need a source that indexes the first line of a poem.

The Library has Granger's Index to Poetry located in Reference on the 1st floor. The call number is 808.8G76i.  

We also have The Columbia Granger's Index to Poetry in Anthologies. Call number is 808 G76i 2004 and 2007. (Reference)

There is also an index to "last lines" in poetry.  Last Lines: an Index to the Last Lines of Poetry. Call number 808.81 K68i.  (Reference)

Note: Grangers tends to drop poems as they get older, so you may need to search in several volumes.
