Walker Library has a lot of sources that would be helpful when researching a topic about Shakespeare and/ or his plays. 

  • The Library Catalog is excellent for finding books and ebooks on your topic. (i.e. "shakespeare AND feminism")  Books offer background information from dictionaries / encyclopedias.  They can help in focusing your topic. 
    • The Oxford Companion to Shakespeare
    • Dictionary of Shakespeare
  • English Language & Literature guide provides a starting place with recommendations for finding articles, journals, encyclopedias, and more. 
    • JSTOR
    • MLA Bibliography
    • Literature Online (LION)
  • Journal Locator lets you search for "shakespeare" to bring up journals on Shakespeare and his works.

  • JSTOR Understanding Shakespeare is a beta site that lets you "Pick a Play. Click on a line.  See Articles on JSTOR that Reference it."
  • Ambrose Video (BBC Shakespeare Plays)
    • ​Access to 37 of Shakespeare's plays.
