There are several places you might want to start to find articles pre-Civil War and after.
Tennessee History a Library Research Guide has links to resources for books, articles, primary sources and more.
- Primary sources provides links to digital collections including Tennesee History: Primary Source Collections and Volunteer Voices.
The History:United States library guide has a link to primary sources which contains access to digital collections. Several that might be helpful are:
- American Civil War Periodicals: 1855-1868
- American Civil War: Letters and Diaries.
- Civil War Collection
- Civil War Era Database (Tennessee Library and Archives)
Add "tennesee" to whatever topic you're researching to focus your search. i.e. cotton and tennesee.
