First, try looking for the book in JEWL Search. It should show the book info and a status of In Process which indicates it's on order.

 

If you use the Library Catalog to search for books, you may notice on occasion there is no information on location, availability status or call number. It's just blank.  

The technical reason is that the platform that creates the Library Catalog search function does not work well with items that have no barcode. This can mean the book is on order. The best way around this when it occurs, is to look for the book in JEWL Search.
