Q. Do I need my MTSU student ID to check out materials?

MTSU students must have obtained a current university ID card (BlueID) to check out items from Walker Library. Once they have obtained their BlueID, students may present any government-issued photo ID instead of their BlueID at a library check-out point. 

• The photo ID is necessary for your security, as well as ours to match the user with their patron record.  
• The Library's internal system will not create an account for students who have not received a BlueID. 
• If you don't have an ID, Circulation can hold items until you can retrieve your ID and return to the Library.

Note: The Circulation Desk is the only library check-out point that accepts the GET Mobile app as an alternative to a physical ID. To borrow library technology items or retrieve a study-room reservation card, students must present a physical ID.
